AUBURN — Republican Gov. Paul LePage is heading to Auburn to celebrate Flag Day with a descendant of Betsy Ross.
LePage will visit the American Legion Post 31 in Auburn on Sunday for an unveiling of a new flag mural. He will be joined by John Harker, a descendant of Betsy Ross – who’s credited with sewing the nation’s first flag. The event begins at 10:30 a.m.
The flag mural was created by artist Scott LoBaido, who is spending six months traveling across the country and painting flag murals on American Legion Post or VFW buildings in all 50 states.
