BANGOR — Federal prosecutors say a Dexter man will spend nearly seven years in prison for a 2012 pharmacy robbery.

Judge John A. Woodcock sentenced 27-year-old Michael Thompson on Monday to 82 months in prison. Prosecutors say Thompson must also pay $5,178.58 in restitution. He pleaded guilty in December 2014.

Court records say Thompson jumped over the counter in a Guilford Rite Aid and displayed a hunting knife before demanding narcotics. The records say a pharmacist opened a locker containing narcotics and Thompson filled a bag with more than $5,000 worth of drugs.

Thompson also faces three years of supervised release.
