SKOWHEGAN — Skowhegan police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the person who knocked a man unconscious Sunday afternoon and robbed him of his money and prescription medication.

Police Chief Ted Blais said the victim, James Fletcher, of Skowhegan, told investigators he was at a storage facility on Waterville Road at about 2:45 p.m. Sunday when he was attacked.

“He was knocked out, and an unknown person stole an undisclosed medication and an undisclosed amount of money from him,” Blais said. “Fletcher indicated when he awoke from being knocked out he found his money and medication missing.”

Skowhegan police were assisted at the scene by the Somerset County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Unit and Redington-Fairview General Hospital EMS.

The investigation into the incident is underway. Anybody with information is asked to call the Skowhegan Police Department at 474-6908.

Callers will remain confidential, Blais said.
