WASHINGTON – U.S. Sen. Angus King of Maine is back at work in Washington, D.C., after successful prostate surgery.
The Maine independent returned Monday from his Brunswick, Maine, home to the Capitol to resume his regular Senate calendar.
King, who is 71, survived malignant melanoma decades ago. He disclosed the prostate cancer and plans for his surgery in June. King’s surgery was performed at Massachusetts General Hospital.
King has said he plans to continue working and run for re-election in 2018. He was elected to the Senate in 2012 and was Maine’s governor from 1995 to 2003.
