A Belgrade man was hospitalized Tuesday after a Dresden crash that police say could have involved alcohol and also injured a passenger.
Phillip Dumont, 26, of Belgrade, was driving at high speed in a 2004 Hyundai Elantra just after 9 p.m. on a dirt portion of Bog Road when he lost control of the car, which rolled over several times, said Lt. Rand Maker of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. Dumont wasn’t wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the car, Maker said.
Dumont and passenger Sabrina Marino, 25, of Dresden, were taken by ambulance to Lincoln County Health-Miles Campus in Damariscotta. Dumont was transferred to Maine Medical Center in Portland, where a hospital spokeswoman said he was listed in fair condition Wednesday afternoon. Marino, who wore a seat belt, was treated and released, according to a spokesman at the Damariscotta hospital.
Maker said the sheriff’s office suspects that alcohol was involved in the crash, and he said the office is still gathering evidence on the crash and the investigation is active.
