WAYNE — Wayne’s Summer Festival and Lobster Roll Lunch is planned for 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, at Cary Memorial Library.
The event will feature a bee theme.
Schedule of events:
• 9 a.m. Fourth annual Cary Memorial Library 5K Walk/Run will start at the elementary school.
• 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Bake sale and book sale.
• 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Silent auction at the Williams House. Bids close at noon Aug. 8.
• 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Quilt raffle and loon lamp raffle: Raffle tickets now available. Loon lamp winner drawn at 1 pm.
• 11 a.m. Children’s program with musician Buster B., children can dance and sing.
• 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Lobster roll lunch under the tent, will feature omemade blueberry cake, $15. Chicken salad or roll option, $8; and peanut butter and jelly for children, $5; Takeout available.
• 12:45 p.m. Detector dog exhibition: Merrill’s Detector Dogs will have K9 Phiona and handler Sarah Maffei demonstrate training routines for explosives’ detection. No explosives will be present. Q & A will follow.
