I was perusing Reader’s Digest Word Power July/August edition and immediately came up with anecdotes relating these fun words to Maine’s fearless chief executive:
Flummox (confuse); crudivore (eats raw?); hoosegow (jail); mollycoddle (treat with absurd attention); donnybrook (wild brawl?); cantankerous (hard to deal with — ya think); codswallop (nonsense); doozy (extraordinary one of its kind); discombobulate (upset/frustrate); hootenanny (singing event); yahoo (dumb person); kerfuffle (disturbance); absquatulate (abscond or flee): skullduggery (underhanded behavior) and flibbertigibbet (silly and flighty person).
