Portland police are searching for two men accused of committing armed robbery at the Family Dollar store at 52 Riverside St. around 9 p.m. Tuesday.
Two black men believed to be in their 20s entered the store wearing dark hoodies and showed handguns, police Lt. Gary Hutcheson said.
They robbed the store of an unspecified amount of cash and ran off.
A search of the area using a police dog did not turn up any evidence of their whereabouts, Hutcheson said. Detectives were still searching the area late Tuesday night.
Police said Wednesday that it is too early to say if the armed robbery is connected to an armed robbery July 16 at Tortilla Flats. During that incident, two people standing in the restaurant parking lot were robbed at gunpoint by two men.
