A Madison couple is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in cases of vandalism earlier this month in Madison.

Steve and Kelly Taylor estimate that vehicles at a property off Learner’s Lane sustained close to $4,000 worth of damage in the July 10 incident, Kelly Taylor said Wednesday.

The Somerset County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate vandalism reported in the areas of Bean Street, Heald Street and Weston Avenue, according to Chief Deputy James Ross.

There have been leads but nothing that has led to an arrest yet, he said.

“It’s expensive and it’s like, jeez,” Kelly Taylor said. “I don’t know how well the sheriff’s office can do following up on something like that, but maybe if people see a reward, they would come forward.”

About 12 windows were broken in a car Steve Taylor was restoring and in two plow trucks at the property, Kelly Taylor said.

Other crimes in the area included theft of a bicycle and real estate signs, windows shot out with BB guns and reports of traffic cones in vehicles.

The sheriff’s department asks anyone with information to call 474-0230 or email sherifftips@somersetcounty-me.org. The Taylors can be reached at 696-3929.
