PITTSFIELD — A Science Festival isset for 10 a.m-1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, at Hathorn Park. There will be a variety of hands-on science activities presented by local organizations, according to a news release from Pittsfield Public Libarary.

Participants can discover super science with Maine Discovery Museum, learn about the science behind the food with Healthy SV, transform garbage into a garden with Field’s Pond Nature Center, reach for stars astronomy with Cornerstones of Science, learn about reptiles with the L.C. Bates Museum, navigate an alewives obstacle course with the Sebasticook Land Trust and learn about water bugs with Sneaking Science.

The Tri-Town Science Fest is organized by the Newport Cultural Center, the Pittsfield Public Library, the Hartland Public Library, and Cornerstones of Science. The rain location is the Warsaw Middle School Gymnasium.
