Monique Allen, of Augusta, recently attended Modern Woodmen of America’s Merit Club Leadership Conference in St. Louis, Missouri. Allen was one of approximately 360 youth service club leaders from across the U.S. who earned the opportunity to take part in the annual conference.

The conference, which took place July 9-12, offered guests the opportunity to attend educational and motivational workshop sessions, network with other club leaders and gain new ideas for leading volunteer activities with children.

Allen, a modern Woodmen youth service club leader for 22 years, qualified for the conference because her club completes a variety of projects in 2014. These projects focused on volunteerism, patriotism, education and fun, according to a news release from the club.
