William and Kathleen Conway, of Violette Avenue, Waterville, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary at a private dinner at the Lobster Trap & Steakhouse Restaurant on Friday, June 26, 2015.
Will and Kay were married June 25, 1955, in Old Town, and have resided in Waterville ever since.
Kay retired from Waterville High School as an English teacher and Will retired after many years at the U.S. Postal Service in Waterville.
Attending the dinner were daughters Jan Conway, of Alexandria, Virginia, and Margaret Conway of Bristol, Rhode Island; as well as grandson Benjamin Ratier, also of Bristol, and a sophomore at the University of Rhode Island in Kingston. Also attending were former neighbor and good friend Evelyn Hanscom Towne and longtime next-door neighbor and good friend Ann Marie Doherty. Daughter Martha Cobb, her husband Bill Cobb, and grandchildren Max and Katie Cobb, were unable to join the celebration.
The group also toasted Evelyn’s 91st birthday from June 18 and Will’s 87th birthday, which was June 27.
