LOS ANGELES — The producer of “Sesame Street” and HBO are going into business together.
Under a new partnership announced Thursday by Sesame Workshop and HBO, the premium cable channel will carry the next five seasons of “Sesame Street” on HBO and its related platforms.
PBS, the long-time home of the children’s program, will continue to air the show as well.
The deal allows Sesame Workshop to produce almost double the content as in previous seasons and provide the show free to PBS and member stations after a nine-month window, HBO and the nonprofit Sesame Workshop said.
