A 20-year-old Franklin County man who was arrested with two others in July in connection with a series of convenience store burglaries in that county was arrested again Friday on a warrant for arson.

D’Kota R. Rowe, of Wilton, is being held without bail at the Somerset County Jail in East Madison. He was booked at the jail at 6:08 p.m. Friday on a Somerset County Sheriff’s Department warrant, according to an intake officer at the jail.

Rowe, along with two Nebraska men, was charged in July with convenience store burglaries in Franklin County in which alcohol, cigarettes and chewing tobacco were stolen.

Maine State Police arrested the men July 2 at a home in East Dixfield where they were staying. Police charged Einer Bonilla, 21, and Duane Bailey, 27, both of Nebraska, and Rowe, then showing an address in East Dixfield, police said. Police recovered some of the alcohol and tobacco products.

Bailey and Bonilla were living with Rowe while they worked for his mother’s concession stand, which operates at local fairs, police said. The burglaries took place June 30 and July 1 at Schoolhouse Variety in Weld, Our Family Variety in New Vineyard and My Dad’s Place in North Jay. In each case, the burglars broke the front door glass to get inside. Troopers worked with deputies from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and officers from the Jay and Wilton police departments.

Images from security cameras showed two men in the stores, wearing bandannas over their faces and gloves on their hands.

No details were available Saturday on the arson charge, which is a class A crime in Maine, punishable by up to 30 years in prison. Somerset County Chief Deputy James Ross said it was a warrant arrest in an Office of the State Fire Marshal case by a county deputy at the Skowhegan State Fair.
