WATERVILLE — Waterville Senior High School will host an open house from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Sherwin Street Park off Sherwin and Water streets in the South End.

Students and their families are invited to attend, according to school Principal Don Reiter.

Reiter said school officials decided to move the annual open house from the high school to the community based on feedback from students, parents and staff.

The open house will be less formal than in the past.

Student schedules will be distributed and staff will grill hot dogs, hamburgers and veggie burgers. A shuttle bus between the park and the high school on Messalonskee Avenue will be available for those who have never been to the school and would like to tour it.

“We’re hoping for a good turnout,” Reister said Tuesday morning of the open house. “We hope the weather doesn’t keep people away.”
