Pro-Life association event set for Sept. 19

Pro-Life Education Association will host its annual brunch from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, at The Senator Inn & Conference Center, 284 Western Ave., Augusta. The event is open to the public.

Keynote speaker Michael D. Harmon will discuss “Planned Parenthood’s Callous Disregard for Lives of the Unborn,” according to a news release from the association.

Harmon, a retired journalist and military officer, is a freelance writer and speaker. He holds a bachelor or arts degree in English and American literature from Bowdoin College, a master of arts degree in political science from the University of Pittsburgh, and a master’s in ministry degree from St. Michael’s Seminary of the Charismatic Episcopal Church, in which he is an ordained deacon. He serves at Church of the Prince of Peace in Sanford and teaches literature and history in his church’s private K-12 school. He is an Army veteran of Vietnam and retired from the Army Reserve in Maine in 1994 with the rank of lieutenant colonel. He lives in Sanford with his wife Margaret. Together they have five children and eight grandchildren.
