Sammy Grandahl and Haley Fletcher scored a goal on each side of intermission as Monmouth clipped Oak Hill 2-0 in a Mountain Valley Conference game Wednesday afternoon.

Grandahl broke a scoreless tie off a feed from Tia Day about five minutes before halftime. Fletcher added the insurance goal, unassisted, with about 12 minutes left.

Mikayla Cameron recorded eight saves to earn the shutout in net for the Mustangs. Anna Dodge made 18 saves for the Raiders (1-1).

FIELD HOCKEY

OAK HILL 2, DIRIGO 1, 20T: Brooke Surette dribbled the length of the field and flicked the game-winning goal past Dirigo goalkeeper Morgan Morrow to give the Raiders a double-overtime, MVC victory over the Cougars in Wales.

The game-winner came moments after a save from Abby Fuller, who stopped 11 shots in the win for Oak Hill (3-1). Kylee Veilleux had the Raiders’ other goal, assisted by Lexi Fuller.

Dirigo (2-2) got its goal from Ashley Perreault, while Morrow finished with 13 saves.

MOUNTAIN VALLEY 3, HALL-DALE 0: The Bulldogs were held without a shot on goal as the Falcons picked up an MVC win in Farmingdale.

Liza White, Lexy Dugay and Olivia Lee each scored goals for Mountain Valley (2-1).

Kaylee Magee made 16 saves in the loss for Hall-Dale (0-3).

BOYS SOCCER

CARRABEC 5, WISCASSET 0: Trent Richardson made 15 saves and Carrabec scored four times in the second half to pull away from Wiscasset in MVC boys soccer action in North Anson.

Five different Cobras found the back of the net — Dylan Willette, Cole Rugh, Jacob Atwood, Tyler Reichert and TK Pray. Nick Sansone dished out assists on three of those goals for Carrabec (2-0). Conlon Ranta made 17 saves for Wiscasset (0-1).
