MADISON — The Madison football team continued its strong start to the season Friday night when it rolled past Foxcroft 33-12 in an Eastern C game Friday night at Rudman Field.

Nick Morales led the way for the Bulldogs (2-0) by rushing for 151 yards and four touchdowns. Quarterback Chase Malloy threw for 139 yards and a score as well.

“We had good balance,” Madison coach Scott Franzose said.

Madison led just 7-6 after the first quarter but pulled away on a pair of Morales touchdown runs in the second quarter, from 18 and 2 yards.

Malloy threw a 38-yard touchdown pass to Briar Edgerly in the third quarter and Morales finished off the scoring with a 23-yard run in the fourth quarter.

MCI 67, ORONO 0: Alex Bertrand rushed for three touchdowns and Greg Vigue threw for two scores as MCI rolled in Orono.

“It was a good win for us,” MCI Tom Bertrand said.

Eli Bussell returned a fumble 31 yards for a score as well.

WINTHROP/MONMOUTH 45, TRAIP 14: Six different Ramblers scored on Friday night as Winthrop/Monmouth (1-1) rolled to a 45-14 victory over the Rangers (1-1) in a Campbell Conference Class D contest at Maxwell Field.

Nate Scott got the Ramblers on the board early with a 17-yard touchdown run and Bennette Brooks doubled the home team’s advantage to 14-0 when he hauled in a 15-yard touchdown pass from Matt Ingram.

Traip bounced back with a 43-yard touchdown rush from Evan Porter to make it 14-7, but touchdown rushes from Dustin Tripp and Scott gave Winthrop/Monmouth a commanding 28-7 lead at intermission.

Alec Brown and Antonio Meucci added touchdown runs of three and 38 yards, respectively, for the Ramblers, while Tyler Cote made a 26-yard field goal and was 5-for-5 on extra points.
