Emily A. Clark, of Oakland, has been named a Fulbright Scholar and will spend the 2015-16 academic year doing research in Trinidad and Tobago.

Clark is a 2011 Messalonskee High School graduate, and 2015 Smith College graduate, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences and minor in marine science and policy.

The subject of her Fulbright Fellow proposal is “Assessment of Marine Resource Use for Sustaining Artisanal Fisheries.” She will work with the local fishing community to evaluate how climate change may be effecting area catch.
