How is it that a most esteemed man like conservative author and commentator Dinesh D’Souza is arrested, tried and convicted and put in jail for asking a friend to give money to a campaign? This was an error by D’Souza but in his case, I believe he made the mistake quite innocently. Nonetheless, making illegal political campaign donations is against the law, and ignorance of the law is no excuse.
But fundraisers for the Clinton campaign recently accepted money from a person who does not live in this country — which is also illegal. At first the campaign worker said, “I’m sorry we are not allowed to accept money from people that come from another country.” But then the contributor’s friend asked if the woman could give the friend the money so the friend could make the contribution. After consulting with her supervisor, the campaign worker agreed to the donation. Apparently, this bending of the law was OK with the Clinton campaign workers.
This incident shows to what lengths these people are willing to go to get Clinton elected. Shouldn’t this campaign worker go to jail just like the D’Souza did? Is there one set of laws for Republicans and one set for Democrats?
