A Florida man faces up to two years in federal prison after pleading guilty to failing to pay more than $90,000 in child support and moving across state lines.

Prosecutors say 51-year-old Jeffrey Kingman of Fort Lauderdale pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Portland on Wednesday. They say Kingman made reduced and variable child support payments between August 2007 and March 2011, ceasing to make them altogether in 2012.

Federal law makes it a crime for a person to maintain residence in a different state than that of the children if the person owes more than $10,000 in child support. Kingman will be sentenced after completion of an investigation report by the federal probation office. He also faces a potential $250,000 fine.
