MT. DESERT ISLAND — The Winslow football team craved a tough game after a pair of blowouts to open the season.

The Raiders got one Friday night.

Jacob Trask threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Dylan Hutchinson and then rushed for a 20-yard score to lead Winslow past Mt. Desert Island 35-20 in an Eastern C game Friday night.

Kenny Rickard rushed for a pair of touchdowns for Winslow as well.

The Raiders (3-0) trailed 7-6 after the first quarter and didn’t put the game away until the third, when Trask and Nate St. Amand rushed for touchdowns.

Rickard capped the scoring with a 3-yard rush with 5:32 left in the fourth quarter.

Croix Albee rushed for two touchdowns to lead the Trojans (2-1).

FOXCROFT 20, WATERVILLE 6: Foxcroft opened the season with two big losses, getting out-scored by a combined 62-18 margin. The Ponies broke through Friday with a victory over the Purple Panthers at Oakes Field.

Waterville dropped to 1-2.

BREWER 47, GARDINER 8: Josh Farrin rushed for a 31-yard touchdown, but it wasn’t enough as the Witches beat the Tigers in Brewer.

Eli Kropp connected on a pass to Cody Spencer for the 2-point conversion after the touchdown.

Gardiner dropped to 0-3, while Brewer improved to 3-0.

MESSALONSKEE 54, HAMPDEN 19: Jack Bernatchez scored seven touchdowns to lead the Eagles to the Pine Tree Conference Class B win in Hampden.

Caleb Chevarie also scored for the Eagles (2-1). Hampden is now 1-2.
