WINSLOW — Household Hazardous Waste Disposal Day from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at the Public Works facility, 135 Halifax St. The event will be open to residents from Belgrade, Benton, China, Clinton, Fairfield, Oakland, Sidney, Vassalboro, Waterville and Winslow, according to a news release from the City of Waterville.

The Kennebec Valley Council of Governments, in conjunction with the Town of Winslow, will host the disposal day. Besides providing opportunities for safely discarding of unwanted chemicals such as pesticides, solvents, old fuels, oil and latex paints and many other hazardous household products, residents can also dispose of electronics such as TV’s and computers.

A separate prescription medication disposal will be available at the event. Preregistration is required.
