LINCOLN — Tyler Ripley ran for 118 yards and scored three touchdowns to help the Mount View football team earn a 33-18 victory over Mattanawcook in a key Little Ten Conference game Friday night.

With the win, Mount View, now 5-2, has a chance to earn the No. 2 seed in the playoffs and a bye out of the first round. Mattanawcook is also 5-2.

Ripley rushed for two touchdowns and caught a 16-yard touchdown pass from Cole Hannan. Jack Axsom ran for 79 yards and a touchdown for Mount View.

The Mustangs led 13-12 at the half, and scored a pair of third quarter touchdowns to pull away.

WINTHROP/MONMOUTH 30, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 13: A career game from junior Alec Brown helped the Ramblers earn a come-from-behind victory over the Seagulls in a Campbell Conference Class D game played at Joe Regina Field.

Brown had 28 carries for 228 yards, three touchdowns and a two-point conversion rush for Winthrop/Monmouth (4-2), who trailed 13-6 early in the third quarter.

“Our line did very well against them and he was just belly and trap up the middle,” Ramblers coach Dave St. Hilaire said. “He was carrying guys and he was running hard.”

The Ramblers took a 6-0 lead into the half after a 1-yard touchdown run from Brown in the first quarter, but Old Orchard Beach (2-5) responded with short touchdown runs from Dylan Creswell and Erik Hogan to take the lead early in the second half.

Winthrop/Monmouth took the lead for good before the of the quarter, though. The Ramblers got touchdown runs of 13 and 9 yards from Brown before Antonio Meucci scored on a 3-yard run on the final play of the third quarter. Nate Scott ran in a pair of two-point conversions.
