SOUTH CHINA — Erskine Academy senior Caleigh Charlebois has been named a semifinalist in the National Merit Scholarship Program. She is one of 16,000 semifinalists named in September who will have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,400 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $32 million which will be offered next spring, according to a news release from the academy.

To be considered for a merit scholarship award, semifinalists must fulfill several requirements to advance to the finalist level of the competition.

Charlebois is the daughter of Tracey Charlebois, of China, and Rich Charlebois, of Albion.
