NEW LONDON, N.H. — Yusuf Yama scored midway through the second overtime as the University of Maine at Farmington upset Colby-Sawyer, 2-1, in the North Atlantic Conference men’s soccer quarterfinals Sunday.
Uriah Forest-Bulley scored the other goal for the Beavers (6-9-3) on a header in the first half. Eddie Garcia scored the lone goal for Colby-Sawyer. (11-7). Matt Wilson recorded 10 saves for the Beavers.
UMF advances to the semifinals, where it will face Castleton on Wednesday.
WOMEN’S SOCCER
HARTFORD 1, MAINE 0: Elise Galipo’s first goal of the season was all Hartford would need to edge Maine in the America East semifinal in West Hartford, Conn.
Claudia Dube-Trempe had three saves in net for the Black Bears (9-8-2).
FIELD HOCKEY
MAINE 3, UNH 2: Maine tied the program record for most wins in a season after edging rival New Hampshire in Durham, N.H.
Emily Corbett, Danielle Aviani and Marissa Shaw scored for the Black Bears (17-3).
WOMEN’S HOCKEY
VERMONT 4, MAINE 2: Maine scored two goals in the second period but it wasn’t enough to get past Vermont.
Brooke Stacey and Jessica Vallotton each scored a power-play goal for the Black Bears (5-5-0, 3-3-0 America East). Meghann Treacy made 30 saves in net for Maine.
