MT. VERNON — A homework workshop for parents, Homework — What Successes and Challenges are you Facing?, is set for 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7 at the Dr. Shaw Memorial Library.

The workshop will allow a time for sharing what is working and what isn’t, tips on how to establish routines and expectations, and information about the common core standards that drive instruction, especially in the area of math.

Linda Smith and Alice Olson, both recently retired teachers, will lead this informal discussion. Child care and refreshments will be provided. This is not a school sponsored event.
