The Kennebec County Soil & Water Conservation District is holding an election this month for one of three elective district supervisor posts.

Tom Doore, of Augusta, the incumbent, is the sole candidate. However, Dale Finseth, the district’s executive director, said there could be write-in candidates.

Ballots are available at the Kennebec district office. The unpaid position starts Jan. 1, 2016, and is a three-year term of office.

The deadline for voting is 4 p.m. Nov. 30, and any Kennebec County registered voter wishing to cast a ballot can contact the district at 622-7847, extension 3, or by coming to the office, 21 Enterprise Drive, Augusta.

The board of supervisors, composed of three elected and two appointed members, acts as the board of directors for the agency, overseeing finances and policies and setting priorities for natural resources issues.
