CONCORD, N.H. — Eddie Kopacz scored a game-high 47 points but Unity College fell to New Hampshire Technical Institute 113-102 in a Yankee Small College Conference men’s basketball game Sunday afternoon.

Kopacz made 17 of 31 shots and was 9 for 12 from the free throw line. He also added 11 rebounds for Unity (2-3, 2-3). Sean Tocci added 26 points while Oak Hill graduate Adam Merrill had 12 points and five rebounds.

NHTI (4-2, 3-0) was led by Mustapha Koroma with 24 points.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

NHTI 87, UNITY 23: Danielle Kimball scored a game-high 16 points to lead NHTI to the YSCC win in Concord, N.H.

Shannon Hart and Jillian Gillman added 13 points apiece for NHTI (5-1, 3-0).

Unity (0-4, 0-4) was led by Zoe Picanso and Raeann Bond with six points each.

BOSTON COLLEGE 55, MAINE 48: Liz Wood led all scorers with 14 points and added nine rebounds but it was not enough as the Black Bears lost the non-conference game in Chestnut Hill, Mass.

Sigi Koizar added 12 points, three rebounds and four assists for Maine (1-1).

Kelly Hughes scored 13 points to lead the Eagles (2-0).

EMERSON 74, UMF 46: UMF’s Meghan Smith had her ninth career double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds in a non-conference loss at the Emerson Tip-Off Tournament in Boston, Mass.

Kelly Pomerleau and Winslow grad Elizabeth Ferry each added six points for the Beavers (0-2) while Skowhegan graduate Cheyenne Malloy chipped in five points.

The Lions were led by Charlie Boyle with 21 points.

WOMEN’S HOCKEY

 BOSTON UNIVERSITY 3, MAINE 2: The Terriers completed a sweep by holding off the Black Bears for the Women’s Hockey East win in Boston, Mass.

Boston University (8-6-0, 6-3-0) scored a goal in each period. The first by Dakota Woodworth followed by Samantha Sutherland in the second period and Sara Lefort in the third. Erin O’Neil made 29 saves.

Audra Richards had both goals for Maine (6-8-0, 3-6-0). Meghann Treacy stopped 31 shots.
