Coastal searches over the weekend turned up no sign of the missing Cape Elizabeth man who is thought to have disappeared after piloting a water taxi away from Portland’s waterfront before dawn Wednesday.

Authorities believe Adam Patterson, 30, was on board the 24-foot boat owned by Portland Express Water Taxi, for whom he worked, though DiMillo’s Marina security video showing the boat leaving at 3:25 a.m. did not show who was at the helm.

The wreckage of the boat was found Friday on Parsons Beach in Kennebunk and was seized as evidence by the Maine Marine Patrol, the lead agency in the investigation. An examination of the boat’s hull and the debris recovered at the beach showed no conclusive evidence Patterson was at the wheel, said Marine Patrol spokesman Jeff Nichols.

The Maine Marine Patrol flew a search Sunday and planned another Monday covering the area between Portland and Kittery, Nichols said.
