Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens in Boothbay present Gardens Aglow from 4 to 8 p.m. through Thursday, Dec. 31. The gardens will be closed Christmas Eve.

The Gardens closed for the season Oct. 31, when the staff transformed the central gardens from a garden paradise to a winter wonderland.

Gardens Aglow is a ticketed event created for people of all ages. Tens of thousands of lights have been strung and the night comes alive with color as CMBG creates the largest light display in Maine.

Festively lit creations adorn the roughly 14 acres of central gardens on the CMBG campus.

Visitors can explore the area on foot and the experience will be handicapped accessible.

In addition to dramatic lighting, visitors can enjoy music, special food and beverage options in the cafe, with holiday shopping in the gift shop.

Tickets cost $8 for adult members, $5 for children members, $12 for adults, $6 for children, $10 for seniors. Tickets will be valid for all open days of Gardens Aglow.
