AUGUSTA — Turning Toward Truth, Forging a New Understanding of Thanksgiving will be the theme from 4 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, at Unitarian Universalist Community Church, 69 Winthrop St., Fellowship Hall.

Moving beyond turkey, potatoes, cranberries, pie and pilgrims toward right relationship with the Wabanaki people.

Join the religious leaders of Augusta with the retelling of the story of the First Nations and the first immigrants. Awaken the spirit of truth and love as we prepare our hearts and minds for new rituals to recreate the American traditions of thanksgiving. Be a part of a community committed to cultivating hope and taking action toward a new cultural narrative.
