SKOWHEGAN — Skowhegan police report a girl reported missing earlier this week has been found.
In a social media post Wednesday, Skowhegan police Chief David Bucknam reported that Summer Stuard had been located by Westbrook detectives and officers in a shopping mall parking lot.
“It has been three (3) days of active searching, interviewing, and following leads, to bring this investigation to a safe resolution,” Bucknam wrote. “For everyone involved, it is an amazing moment to hear the words … we have found her!”
Earlier in the week, police were asking for the public’s assistance as they searched for a 12-year-old girl who had been reported missing.
The Skowhegan girl had last seen between 3 and 7:30 a.m. Sunday at her family’s residence, Bucknam said in a statement.
