WATERVILLE — Devin Albert scored in his first game back after missing the first four games of the season due to injury and Emerson Verrier made 43 saves for his first career shutout as Colby blanked New England Small College Athletic Conference rival Bowdoin, 3-0, at Alfond Rink Friday night.

Michael Rudolf and Nick O’Connor scored the other goals for the Mules (2-2-1 overall, 1-2). Peter Cronin made 32 saves for the Polar Bears (1-4-1, 0-2-1).

MAINE 3, UNH 3: Matt Morris made 33 saves in net as Maine settled for a tie with the University of New Hampshire at Alfond Arena.

Brian Morgan, Cedric Lacroix and Will Merchant scored for the Black Bears (4-8-4, 2-4-1). Andrew Poturalski collected a goal and an assist for the Wildcats (4-6-4, 1-1-4).

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

THOMAS 71, GREEN MOUNTAIN 61: Senior Katie McAllister tied her career high with 27 points to lead Thomas College to its first win of the season, over Green Mountain College.

McAllister also pulled down a team-high nine rebounds while Tess McClenahan and Ashleigh Gagne added 12 points apiece for the Terriers (1-4, 1-1).

Mercedes Rideout led Green Mountain (0-4, 0-2) with 17 points.

UMAINE-FARMINGTON 76, CASTLETON 62: Meaghan Smith recorded her third double-double in a row with 19 points and 11 rebounds as the Beavers handed the Spartans their first loss of the year.

Kelly Pomerleau added 15 points and Elizabeth Ferry tallied 14 points and eight rebounds for the Beavers (2-4, 1-1). Ali Jones paced Castleton (5-1, 1-1) with 20 points.

NORTHEASTERN 56, MAINE 44: Samantha DeFreese poured in 25 points as Northeastern knocked off Maine in Boston.

Sigi Kolzar led the Black Bears (6-4) with 16 points while Bella Swan added 10.

MEN’S BASKETBALL

CASTLETON 98, UMAINE-FARMINGTON 71: Rob Coloutti led all scorers with 26 points, including six 3-pointers, as Castleton ran away from UMaine-Farmington in a NAC basketball clash in Castleton.

Nick Hilton led the Beavers (0-5, 0-2) with 20 points and five rebounds.

GREEN MOUNTAIN 100, THOMAS 78: Cameron Anderson’s 23 points led Green Mountain Collge to an easy NAC win over Thomas in Poultney, Vt.

Levi Barnes scored 22 points to lead the Terriers (2-5, 0-2).
