RANGELEY — Sydney Tilton had a game-high 18 points — including a clutch 3-pointer in overtime — as the Richmond girls grabbed a 42-40 win over Rangeley in the East-West Conference opener for both teams Friday night.

Tilton’s triple gave Richmond (1-0) the lead for good with about 90 seconds remaining. Rangeley (0-1) had a chance to tie it at the free throw line with 5.5 seconds to play but could not convert.

Ashley Abbott had nine points in the win while Mackenzie Abbott chipped in with seven. Blayke Morin and Sydney Royce paced the Lakers with 13 points each.

OAK HILL 29, ST. DOMINIC 21: Grace Sabine scored a game-high 16 points to spark the Raiders to the Mountain Valley Conference win in Auburn.

Jamie Prue added six points for Oak Hill (1-0).

Allie Veinote scored eight points to lead the Saints (0-1).

HALL-DALE 41, WINTHROP 29: The Sweet sisters combined for 25 points to lead the Bulldogs to the MVC win in Farmingdale.

Dani Sweet led the way with 13 points while Thea Sweet added 12 for Hall-Dale (1-0).

Winthrop (0-1) was led by Bri McClure with 12 points.

BREWER 47, CONY 26: The Witches clamped down defensively in the second half to pick up a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A win in Augusta.

Courtney Pearson led a balanced scoring attack with 10 points for Brewer (1-0), who limited Cony (0-1) to seven points in the second half.

Kate Silva had a team-high seven points for the Rams.

BOYS BASKETBALL

MARANACOOK 79, LINCOLN 74 2OT: Kent Mohlar and Levi Emery scored seven points each after regulation as the Black Bears picked up a wild win in Readfield.

“It was a crazy game,” Maranacook head coach Rob Schmidt said. “It was just back and forth the whole time.”

Maranacook (1-0) trailed by five points with just 25 seconds remaining when Kent Mohlar drained a 3-pointer. The Black Bears managed to get the ball back and Emery made a bucket to tie it up and force the first overtime.

Mohlar finished the game with 27 points and five assists, while Emery added 18 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks. Kyle Wilbur added 17 points, 14 of which came from the foul line.

Riley Cushing had a team-high 20 points for Lincoln (0-1).

LISBON 48, MONMOUTH 39: Jonah Sautter scored a game-high 19 points and Noah Carter added 11 to lead the Greyounds to the MVC victory in Lisbon.

Tyrese Joseph also scored 11 for Lisbon (1-0).

Luke Thombs scored 14 points and Hunter Richardson added 11 for the Mustangs (0-1).

MESSALONSKEE 58, LAWRENCE 47: Sawyer Michaud led three Eagles in double figures with 13 points as Messalonskee (1-0) held off the Bulldogs in Fairfield.

Nathan Violette and James Lathrop each knocked down a pair of 3-pointers on their way to 12 and 11 points, respectively, while Garrett Main chipped in with nine points in the win.

Mason Cooper had a game-high 23 points to lead Lawrence (0-1).

MEDOMAK VALLEY 51, GARDINER 40: Nicholas DePatsy scored 19 points to lead the Panthers to the KVAC B win in Waldoboro.

Zach Starr added 11 points for Medomak (1-0) while Brandon Douglas had seven.

Gardiner (0-1) was led by Brian Dunn with 10 points and Jordan Lamb with eight. Eli Fish and Hunter Chasse each contributed seven points.

RICHMOND 66, RANGELEY 57: Zach Small scored a game-high 29 points to lead the Bobcats to victory in the East-West Conference season-opener.

Matt Holt added 16 points for Richmond (1-0), which jumped out to a 20-8 lead at the end of the first quarter. Ricky Thompson led the Lakers (0-1) with 24 points while Kyle LaRochelle chipped in with 16 points.

BREWSTER 69, KENTS HILL 46: Darius Hinds scored 18 points but the Huskies fell in Brewster in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. Tory Brown and Trevor Guity each added 13 points for Kents Hill (0-1). Brewster is 1-0.
