LEWISTON — Richmond native Jamie Plummer had 20 points, five rebounds and four assists, but it was not enough as the University of Maine at Augusta women’s basketball team fell to Bates College 67-49 Tuesday night at Alumni Gym.

Madeline Foote scored 11 points in the third quarter on her way to a game-high 21 to pace the Bobcats (2-5), while Allie Coppola added 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Caitlin LaFountain had a double-double for UMA (11-5) with 11 points and 16 rebounds.

MEN’S BASKETBALL

SOUTHERN MAINE 85, UM-FARMINGTON 69: Jose Novchanthavong did a little bit of everything to help lift the Huskies to a win over the Beavers in Farmington.

The Westbrook native finished with 17 points, nine rebounds, six assists, three steals and two blocks in the win, while Zach Leal and Atencio Martin added 20 and 19 points, respectively.

Anfernee Dent had 14 points off the bench for UMF and Mt. Blue graduate Eric Berry added 13.

WOMEN’S HOCKEY

ST. ANSLEM 4, COLBY 0: Alison Butler put the Hawks up a goal 1:13 into the contest and St. Anslem never looked back from there on its way to a win over the Mules in Manchester, New Hampshire.

Caley Mueller, Alex Kazmer and Kaitlin Spillane also scored goals for the Hawks (7-1-0). Angelica Crites made 43 saves in goal for Colby (2-4-1).
