MADISON — The Madison boys basketball team outscored St. Dominic Academy 29-1 in the opening quarter on its way to a 70-24 rout of the Saints in a Mountain Valley Conference game in Madison Thursday.

Ty Green led the way for the Bulldogs (3-0) with a game-high 20 points, while Chase Malloy and Mitch Jarvis chipped in with 16 and 12 points, respectively.

Camden Jalbert had seven points to pace St. Dom’s (0-3).

GIRLS BASKETBALL

MADISON 53, ST. DOMINIC 29: A 17-2 scoring advantage in the second quarter helped the Bulldogs to an MVC win over the Saints in Madison.

Emily Oliver led a balanced scoring attack for Madison (3-0) with 12 points. Kayla Bess joined Oliver in double figures with 10 points, while Lauren Hay and Madeline Wood each had seven.

Allie Veinote had 12 points to lead St. Dom’s (1-2).

BOOTHBAY 44, MT. ABRAM 10: Hannah Morley scored a game-high 16 points to lead the Seahawks to the MVC win in Boothbay Harbor.

Faith Blethen added 12 points for Boothbay (3-0).

Mt. Abram (1-2) was led by Summer Ross with four points.

MEN’S BASKETBALL

UM-PRESQUE ISLE 89, UNITY 69: Kevin Collins led five Owls in double figures to pick up a win over the Rams in Presque Isle.

Brandon McGill added 13 points for UMPI, while Maurice Harris, Derek Healy and Quinton Harris finished with 12 each.

Eddie Kopascz had 37 points and six rebounds to lead Unity, while Hunter Engel chipped in with 15 points. Oak Hill graduate Adam Merrill added four points and three rebounds.
