The new Tradewinds Market in Clinton held a ribbon-cutting and grand opening Friday morning, and one of the owners said the store is doing well since its opening a month ago.

“So far, so good,” said Jay Gould, who owns the store at 153 Hinckley Road with Chuck Lawrence, who is also is an owner of the Blue Hill Tradewinds,

The owners operated at the former Dick’s Market at 1152 Main St. until the new 11,990-square-foot supermarket was ready. The new site also includes a Tim Hortons Cafe and Bakery and a 24-hour Citgo gas station. Guold said there is also a spot for a bank, and the owners are looking for a tenant.

Tradewinds is an independent customer of Hannaford brand items. Besides the Clinton and Blue Hill stores, there are Tradewinds stores in Eddington, Brewer, Bangor, Ellsworth, Milo and Veazie.
