My name is Justin Kuiper, and I am a sixth-grader attending Covenant Christian School, in Mishawaka, Indiana.

This year, my class and I are reading, “A Walk Across America,” by Peter Jenkins. This book is about Jenkins’ experience walking across our wonderful country.

As an assignment, our teacher told us to choose a state to research, learn about and write a report to turn into her.

I can and will gain lots of information about the state of Maine, which I chose, and I already have, but the one thing that I am lacking is the personal experience of the things people love about Maine.

I hope the readers of the Kennebec Journal and Morning Sentinel could send me postcards and letters of what they enjoy about the state, its culture, food, big attractions, fun or anything else they would like me to know, so I can get an A+ on my report. Letters and other information will be greatly appreciated.
