As a long-term supporter of the Land for Maine’s Future program (from its inception and before in the 1980s) and a former public member of the LMF board, I thank the newspaper for the Howard Hill article by Kevin Miller, “LePage’s opposition on conservation program begins in Augusta’s backyard,” published Dec. 20.
For the record, to the newspaper and its readers, minutes from the March 2014 LMF board meeting show that I made it a point to move forward my motion to “accept” the proposed project under the usual conditions as being in the best interest of the state of Maine and its taxpayers.
Wishing the best to all with this fine program.
