WINTHROP — The Bailey Library will host career development expert and counselor Bill Stone at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12. The program, Re-Careering after Midlife, will encourage attendees to identify success patterns and build a marketing strategy, according to a news release from the library.

Stone will help attendees articulate job skills, and create new markets for their talents. “The program demonstrates that serendipity occurs when career changers find job opportunities by knowing what they are looking for and knowing where to look,” Stone said in the release. For the last 40 years, Stone has helped individuals with career decision making, focusing on adults re-careering at the midpoint of their working lives.

Stone received his doctorate from Vanderbilt University, where he focused on career development issues. He is a National Certified Career Counselor, and the co-author of “Beginning Career Exploration System.” During his career he has authored numerous career related articles, and given presentations at state and national conferences, including the key note addresses at the National Interactive Television Conference, The National Career Development Conference in Chicago, and the National Consultation on Careers in Ottawa.
