WATERVILLE — Colby College picked up its ninth win in a row with an 88-58 triumph over the University of Maine at Farmington in a non-conference men’s basketball game at Wadsworth Gymnasium on Saturday.

Ryan Jann scored a game-high 21 points to lead the Mules (9-1), while Tony Karalekas chipped in with 16 points. Sean Murphy had 12 points, Ryan Rice 11 points and Mt. Blue graduate Nick Hilton 10 points for the Beavers (0-9).

MAINE 98, BROWN 95: Kevin Little scored 24 points, including a career-high six 3-pointers, to lead Maine to a non-conference win in Bangor.

Aaron Calixte added a career-high 22 points for the Black Bears while Troy Reid-Knight chipped in with 17 points and nine rebounds off the bench.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

UMASS-BOSTON 60, COLBY 50: Olivia Murphy scored 27 points and pulled down 13 rebounds to lead the University of Massachusetts at Boston to a non-conference victory in Boston.

Cony’s Mia Diplock led the Mules (6-3) with 13 points. Carylanne Wolfington of Hall-Dale added 11 points.

GORDON 53, THOMAS 42: Gardiner graduate Katie McAllister’s game-high 13 points weren’t enough as Thomas fell to Gordon in a non-conference matchup in Waterville.

Jordan Agger-Barned added 10 points and seven rebounds for the Terriers (2-7). Sophie Linnell and Kristen Smith led the Fighting Scots (4-6) with 10 points apiece.

WOMEN’S ICE HOCKEY

COLBY 3, CASTLETON 3: Angelica Crites stopped 39 shots for Colby, but Castleton won the overtime shootout, 1-0 to advance to the championship game of the Castleton State Tournament in Castleton, Vermont.

Delaney Flynn, Carly Thomas and Eleanor Knutzen scored for the Mules (2-5-2).
