FARMINGDALE — Mr. and Mrs. Arthur G. and Phyllis J. Dyjak Martin celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at Xunantunich, a pre-Columbian Mesoamerica Mayan ruin site in Belize, Central America. The Martin’s also have renewed their wedding vows at the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris on their 40th wedding anniversary and in a ceremony on Waikiki Beach on their 45th wedding anniversary. In June they plan on an extended tour of South Asia.

Martin, a decorated Vietnam combat veteran, and the former Phyllis Dyjak were married Nov. 6, 1965, in Glastonbury, Connecticut, in a ceremony preformed by Sherill B. Smith. They have one son, Arthur P. E. Martin, and companion Tammy Demaree; and one grandson, Devin Martin, all of Stuart, Florida.

Now retired from state government, the Martin’s have embarked in world travel the past 18 years visiting many countries in Europe, Africa, Asia and Central America. Videos of their travel excursions can be seen at (Halong Bay, Viet-Nam AAA ) on YouTube.
