AUGUSTA — The Augusta Conservation Commission seeks input, thoughts and ideas as the City of Augusta, in partnership with the Kennebec Land Trust, begins to develop a plan for the 164-acre Howard Hill property that the City has agreed to accept from the Land Trust in 2016. The commission will host an initial meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, at City Center, in the Lecture Hall.

The meeting will include brief presentations about the history of Howard Hill, the current status of the acquisition and the conservation easement with the Kennebec Land Trust.

The Conservation Commission recognizes that it is important to hear from residents and other interested people before a Howard Hill management plan is developed and presented to the City Council for adoption in June or July.
