OAKLAND — James Lathrop scored 26 points and hauled in 15 rebounds to lift the Messalonskee boys basketball team to a 60-51 victory over Lawrence in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A game Tuesday night. Nathan Violette added 14 points and four rebounds for Messalonskee (7-3) while Jack Bernatchez chipped in 10 points.
Lawrence (5-6) was led by Seth Powers with 19 points. Mason Cooper (14) and Kyle Robinson (10) were also in double figures.
TEMPLE 44, FOREST HILLS 43: Brad Smith scored 17 points to lead Temple Academy to the Class D win in Waterville.
Joe Xu added 10 points for Temple (2-6). Aaron Moffitt led Forest Hills (4-7) with 18 points.
MCI 66, WATERVILLE 47: Juan Garcia Bangor scored 21 points to lead the Huskies to the KVAC win in Waterville.
Josh Buker added 17 points for MCI (4-7). Tre Grier (14 points) and Dillon Fitts (10 points) also were in double figures for the Huskies.
Adam Barre led Waterville (3-9) with nine points.
SKOWHEGAN 54, NOKOMIS 39: Isaac Witham scored a game-high 21 points and Cam Barnes added 13 to lead the Indians (6-4) to the KVAC victory in Skowhegan.
Zach Hartsgrove scored nine points to pace Nokomis (2-9).
GIRLS BASKETBALL
GARDINER 53, CONY 47: Sophomore Leslie Stevens scored a game-high 15 points, including three 3-pointers, to lead Gardiner in a KVAC A game.
Mary Toman added 13 points for Gardiner (9-1) while Lauren Chadwick chipped in eight.
Cony (2-8) was led by Lauren Murray with 14 points and Haley Ward with 11.

HUSSON 84, THOMAS 38: Kenzie Worcester scored a game-high 15 points to lift the Eagles to the victory in Waterville.
Chandler Guerrette added 14 points for Husson (8-3, 6-0).
Sarah Pepin led Thomas (2-11, 1-6) with 12 points while Katie McAllister scored seven.
