I am writing in response to the invitation expressed in the newspaper’s Jan. 9 editorial about Gov. Paul LePage not speaking for Maine on race.

LePage’s words and images relating to race do not at all represent my ideas, thoughts and feelings. His racist thoughts, feelings and perceptions are reprehensible and are not my thoughts, feelings and perceptions.

I am convinced beyond doubt that Paul LePage is psychologically unfit for the office of governor and that for the good of the state of Maine he should resign immediately.

He is unlikely to do that, so I can only encourage others to express their thoughts and feelings regarding LePage’s attitudes and behaviors through letters to the newspaper.
