WATERVILLE — The Waterville Music Boosters will host a Swing Dinner/Dance Saturday, Feb. 6, at the Elks Lodge, 76 Industrial St.

A spaghetti dinner will be served between 5:30 and 7 p.m. and dance lessons will be offered at 7 p.m.

To open the evening, music will be provided by the Waterville Junior High Jazz Band and the Waterville Senior High Jazz Band. The Opus One Big Band will perform during the majority of the evening.

The Opus One Big Band is comprised of Maine musicians who perform benefit concerts throughout the state to support music programs. The band has been playing for more than 20 years and has performed for church concert series, music booster fundraisers and other charitable events. The band is under the direction of Dale Perkins and includes music educators and performers from across the state.

Band members for the evening include Eric Thomas of Colby College, Andy Forster of Messalonskee High School and Ciara Hargrove of Waterville Senior High School. Other musicians include John Morneau, Curt Allen, Jason Ward, Tom Stott, Gary Comingore, John Furman, Peter Stuard, John Reeves, Lee Prager, Dan Labonte, Meg Hausman, Megan Kennedy, Jim Perkins, Key Labrecque, Doug Kennedy and Dan Schneider.

Tickets, $10 for the dinner and dance, are available in the office at Waterville Senior High School and at Jorgensen’s Cafe in downtown Waterville.
