Future Regional School Unit 3 hosted its annual Alumni Night, featuring men’s and women’s basketball games, on Jan. 9 at Mount View High School.

Approximately $1,200 was raised during the event, which included a half-court shot chance, run by Future’s Rob Dunbar, who donated tickets to an upcoming event; a 50/50 raffle won by Future’s own Tanya Hubbard and donated back to the group; and a big-ticket raffle in which prizes were donated by many local businesses and drawn at halftime.

The crowd was entertained by alumni cheerleaders, the Chamber Singers, and the Pep Band, directed by Michael Venti.

The night of good-natured rivalry and some pretty decent basketball skills were cheered on by a large crowd of alumni, family and friends. The men’s game was right down to the wire. Next year’s date is tentatively set for the second Saturday in January.

Volunteers included Greg Reid, Chuck and Lynn Hadyniak, Chris Kein, Steve Pomerleau, Art Cross, Matt Bennett, Karen York, Monica Furrow, Chuck Karter, Bonnie Shaw and Penny Stevens.

The current project of the Future group is the building of a Mustang Stable, which will be a multi-purpose building for the athletic fields at the Mount View complex.
