AUGUSTA — The Power of One, Be an Upstander, Not a Bystander event is scheduled for 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at Buker Community Center.

This multi-generational event will offer interactive workshops and educational activities. Topics include beyond bullying, respectful connection, healthy relationships, teen dating, compassionate (non-violent) communication and elder care abuse.

Those who attend can create an Upstander T-shirt and make a commitment to being one voice among many. The event is free and open to the public, and a café lunch is available for purchase.

The event is hosted by Mid-Maine Youth to support their 2017 Safe Passages trip to Guatemala, and is sponsored by the Family Violence Project and the Unitarian Universalist Community Church of Augusta.
