WATERVILLE — Kiara Carr scored 23 points after being honored for eclipsing the 1,000 point barrier as the Temple Academy girls basketball team sank Islesboro 53-26 on Monday night.
Veronica Rossignol scored 11 points and Selam Heinrich added seven to lead Temple (12-5) as well.
Carr, a junior, scored her 1,000th point Saturday at Seacoast Christian.
BOYS BASKETBALL
TEMPLE 53, ISLESBORO 48: Temple withstood a second-half charge from Islesboro to pick up a win in Waterville.
Brad Smith and Joe Xu scored 20 and 18 points, respectively, for Temple (6-11), which led 32-20 at halftime.
Forrest Boucher had 20 points in the loss for Islesboro (11-5).
WINTHROP 42, BOOTHBAY 39: Jacob Hickey had 17 points and seven steals as the Ramblers survived a defensive struggle with the Seahawks for a Mountain Valley Conference win in Winthrop.
Spencer Steele added 11 points, four assists and four steals for Winthrop (14-3) while Garrett Tsouprake notched five points, nine rebounds and four steals.
Jacob Leonard and Carter Babcock each had 10 points for Boothbay (11-6).
HALL-DALE 53, CARRABEC 41: Josh Berberich scored 14 points and Jett Boyer added 10 to lead the Bulldogs to the MVC win in North Anson.
Quinn Stebbins also scored nine points — all coming on 3-pointers —for Hall-Dale (12-5).
Dustin Crawford scored 12 points to lead the Cobras (5-12).
